I sampled this from a small airplane-sized bottle, and it exceeded my expectations (I confess I anticipated it would be inferior to traditional American whiskies, similar to how gluten-free beer can taste a bit off). In reality, it was smooth and subtly sweet, with notes of butterscotch and a nutty, sappy, waxy quality, much like the skin of pecans or walnuts. I enjoyed it neat and was genuinely surprised. It possessed enough bourbon-like characteristics that if I hadn't known its origin, I wouldn't have questioned the ingredients.
