BARREL SERIAL NO. // 248 BOTTLE NO. // 16 PROOF // 121.7 ALC/VOL % // 60.85 HAND SELECTED BY // Spec’s NEAT NOSE - The aroma initially seems restrained, with significant barrel char and dark brown sugar. Adding two drops of water opened up the aroma with more caramel, while the brown sugar remained dark. A dark cherry note also emerged after the water was added. PALATE - The mouthfeel is pleasant and viscous. Without water, the palate is dominated by an explosion of dark brown sugar and oak. With just two drops of water, the oak is toned down, and the caramel becomes more prominent, along with vanilla. FINISH - Long and bold, featuring a combination of oak, caramel, and vanilla. BUY? - Definitely. The pour tends to develop sweeter and lighter flavors as water is added or it's exposed to air, so I'm sure it will improve wonderfully over time. BUY AGAIN? - Absolutely, without hesitation.

Specs pick barrel 248, bottle 29, 121.7 proof (60.85% ABV). Intriguing initial notes of milk chocolate, caramel, a hint of prune, salted caramel, moderate oak, then some almond/walnut notes. The finish offers sweet chocolate, oak, and a wonderful savory baking spice that lasts a long time. This is a remarkably unique and fantastic whiskey that most bourbon enthusiasts would find very pleasing. The sheer amount of flavor derived solely from a single grain rice whiskey is astounding. I strongly advise getting it if you have the chance!
Barrel 191 Bottle 90 Proof 122.5 SLB DRINKS selection This bottle is remarkable. The aroma has notes of fudge, vanilla, fig, and oatmeal cookie. It's sweet and dessert-like. This character continues on the palate with chocolate and apple. The finish lingers with an almost chocolate syrup quality. It's probably the most easily drinkable 122 proof I've ever had. Dangerously good.
