Was fortunate to acquire this at the distillery around New Year’s Eve 2018. If you haven't visited, the tour is pleasant and definitely recommended if you're a fan of Jack. Nose: Like all Jack products, there's a lot of vanilla and banana on the nose. There's also a noticeable amount of barrel char and possibly some smoke. Palate: Vanilla is present at the front of the tongue, followed by banana pudding. Next, there's an explosion of the barrel influences detected on the nose. Think char and a heavy dose of oak. Finish: Those char and oak notes persist for a very long time. With the added proof (mine was at 107), it reminded me a lot of the single barrel-barrel proof with more wood influence. If you appreciate leather/char/wood notes in your whiskey, you'll surely enjoy this. It's a quality product and definitely interesting; I'm glad I bought a bottle. Cheers!

About this bottle
High Angel's Share Barrels, bottled in January 2013, produced a notably reduced quantity of whiskey, hence its name. This bottling is among the initial releases in the Jack Daniel's Tennessee Tasters' Selection, an experimental limited edition series featuring bottles selected by Jack Daniel's master tasters. Chris Fletcher, assistant master distiller and master taster, made the selection for this bottling. Approximately 24,000 bottles, each 375ml in size, were produced. Distribution was restricted to the distillery and select Tennessee retailers starting in late October 2018.

This is quite good, significantly better than the standard Old No. 7. Considering its relatively young age, I didn't expect it to be this impressive, but the substantial evaporation loss certainly played a role in its quality.
Similar to classic JD Single Barrel, but with added notes of leather and Tennessee tea. A Father's Day treat with Uncle Jack!
