J.P. Wiser's Alumni Whisky Series Yvan Cournoyer

An excellent release from the JP Wiser's NHL Alumni collection. The nose has a nice blend of dark spices and vanilla. The palate is smooth, with a balance of caramel and spice, notes of grain, and soft apple. The finish is quite short but pleasant.

A pleasant blend. Nothing particularly remarkable. Slightly numbing on the tongue. My preferred from this range. Another one is okay too. The rest are from average to bottom shelf quality.

A bit too bitter for what I anticipated, with a strong oak barrel presence. Still, a good aged whisky.
