Flavor: Primarily smoke and salt. Aftertaste: Lasts a moderate amount of time with moderate warmth. Addition of water: No additional tastes emerge. General impression: 8/10 - This has the character of a traditional Islay spirit. It's not revolutionary, but it's a solid example of the style.

This has promise but needs more refinement than an aged scotch. It's overly alcoholic, sharp, and spicy. I suspect it will become more engaging and pleasurable with more age. It presents as too young with a tart flavor, some peat, spice, and alcohol burn.

Rated 88 points. The aroma has notes of marshmallows, campfire, and smoked herring. Simply nice. The flavor profile is a bit less complex, featuring a lot of caramel. A pleasant scotch with the peat present in the background.

The aroma is off-putting immediately, with a bad funk. Taste is better but unremarkable. Just decent malt whisky. A little spice. No change when a few drops of water are added.

Nose: Distinctly peaty, yet refined. Fresh. A hint of citrus and tropical fruit. Very nice! Taste: More peaty than the nose suggested! Slightly peppery with some coffee notes.

Dried mango, candied lemon peel, cucumber, mild peat that complements the sweetness, waxy, somewhat floral - hibiscus, no unpleasant sharpness.
