Outstanding. Abundant juniper and typical gin botanicals (citrus, cardamom, cassia?) create a superb drink. The oak is noticeable and well-balanced, but it's the refined Islay peat that truly elevates it. I sampled it neat, in a gin-based Old Fashioned, and with a floral gin and tonic. It performs exceptionally well in any preparation.

About this bottle
FIRKIN gin was introduced in 2015 by the Gleann Mór Spirits Company, recognized for its independent releases of single malt Scotch whiskies. Islay Rested FIRKIN Gin is a limited edition product that starts with a base spirit infused with botanicals such as juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, and orris root, which undergoes four distillations. This gin is then aged for a brief duration in American oak barrels that previously held Islay Scotch whisky. It is subsequently bottled at 46% ABV.
