This subtle and delicate blend from Islay challenges the notion that "luxury" and "blend" are contradictory terms in the whisky world. It skillfully integrates smoke with the grain's subtle characteristics.

Adding a small amount of water elevated this dram's quality by about half a star. It certainly has some Islay characteristics. Mild smoke, caramel sweetness, and a spicy, strong, earthy finish make this a great value.
Smoky... that's all. I tasted it quite drunk at a party and thought I had discovered the whisky of the century for $35. Sober, I realized I was foolish.
Nose - 87: Peaty, very straightforward. Taste - 88: Gentle peat smoke, mild burning. Finish - 86: Mild burning sensation. Peat smoke lingers. 87/100
A satisfying blend reminiscent of a Caol Ila. Smooth and easy to enjoy. Imagine a Johnnie Walker blend with peat, but not at Ardbeg levels of peatiness.
Mixed whiskies often get a bad rap; this is one of the few smoky options available, and it's impressive for the cost.
A friend, Christian, I like him, he brushed with Luc in February '15. They suggest I will enjoy this because I like Laphroaig.
