All ingredients sourced locally does not guarantee quality. We are aware of this. Let’s see if the rye performs Nose smells like I dipped my fingertips in white dog, rubbed them together for a few minutes, let my fingers fully dry, then took a whiff. I am apprehensive. Body is sweeter than any rye I have ever encountered. It has sugar, a hint of grain. Finish is non-existent. Absolutely nothing. This is the least dynamic product I have ever experienced in any category or from any country. Similar to the bourbon, there is nothing wrong with it, but it is shockingly bland. I can’t fathom how it’s possible to distill such a blank canvas. I inquired with a manager. It was aged for at least a year. These producers have been operating for 5 years. They are covering their expenses. The whiskeys are not offensive. Perhaps they will develop further, or perhaps they will remain a farm-to-$50 mediocre distillery. I would entirely skip it at this time.
