About this bottle
Inverleven, a Lowland malt distillery, was put on hold in 1991 and permanently ceased operations in 2002. This particular bottling originates from cask #562, a refill bourbon barrel filled in 1985. It was aged for 33 years before being bottled in 2018 at a cask strength of 57.4% ABV. The Private Collection, curated by the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail, features exceptionally aged single malts from esteemed, lesser-known, or closed distilleries, chosen by members of the Urquhart family. This is one of two bottles released at the close of 2018 with an updated aesthetic for the collection.
