Nose: Sweet, grassy, vanilla, orchard fruits like pear and apple. Palate: An oily/waxy mouthfeel. Notes of apricot jam, very sweet and fruity, nutty, oak, orange peel, sweet Sherry, and burnt caramel. Finish: Dark chocolate, leather, tobacco, and candied orange. This is a robust, sweet, and jammy dram. It's rich and decadent. The sherry finish is unconventional and adds an extra dimension of interest. Cask: #354554 Finish: Matured for 13 months in a first-fill European Oak Amontillado Sherry Hogshead Distilled: 2008 Bottled: 2021 UK exclusive This expression ranked first among the five samples, securing 46% of the vote for the evening's favorite. Ninety-five percent of attendees indicated they enjoyed the whisky.
