My initial professional role after completing university was within a major pharmaceutical company's R&D program, involving six-month rotations across different sites. My first rotation began each morning with donning head-to-toe overalls and a face mask before entering a primate facility – specifically, a housing area for rhesus monkeys. With my lab associate restraining a monkey to prevent severe injury, my task was to stimulate it to urinate into a test tube. Moments like those prompt profound reflection on one's life decisions. Where did a crucial choice lead me astray? Sampling this tonight, I find myself pondering a similar question: What compelled me to purchase an entire bottle? Not just a serving, but a full bottle. Was it because it's exclusive to Colorado, a souvenir from a recent trip to Denver? Or perhaps the allure of honey, thinking, 'I enjoy honey, so this must be good'? Regardless, it was a significant misjudgment in decision-making that led me to try something that smells like sugared plastic and tastes like a gym sock soaked in honey.

Haven’t had many flavored whiskies but this one is really good! A gift from a friend who spends a lot of time in Durango and it intrigued me enough to uncork it right away. Drinking over ice with dinner is quite a departure from my typical tasting sessions, but it drinks like a cocktail with a perfect amount of sweetness and bourbon flavor. Honestly blown away...it’s no JD Tennessee Honey that’s for sure!

Decent, the nose is sweet with a hint of small batch character, but the taste is primarily honey with a pleasant whiskey blend. Can be consumed neat without issue. I wish I could have a bottle sent to my place.

Delicious. I think this would be excellent as a dessert whiskey.
