10th Mountain Bourbon (Old Version)

A solid, young bourbon. It smells of cherry, caramel, and maple syrup. Surprisingly full and intricate for its age. The taste is predominantly corn with a hint of waxiness. It has a smooth texture and a brief finish. I'd suggest trying it. My ratings are on the scale below. The distillery uses a 5-point system, and I use a 10-point system, but I doubt you're too intoxicated to figure it out! 1. Awful - So terrible I discarded it. 2. Inferior - I would avoid drinking this. 3. Flawed - Contains several imperfections. 4. Underwhelming - Not terrible, but many superior options exist. 5. Decent - Merely average. 6. Above average - Better than typical. 7. Impressive - Significantly better than average. 8. Superior - In a class by itself. 9. Amazing - A personal best. 10. Flawless

It's quite good for its age. I used to live in the Vail Valley and anticipated this purchase would be driven by nostalgia after a recent visit 20 years after I left. I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth it is. The aroma isn't great, but I find it surprisingly delicious.

This is a very young bourbon with potential, but it needs more time to age. The bottle is attractive, possibly compensating for the spirit. The taste offers caramel and spices, but it dissipates quickly, so one must pay close attention to detect it.

This is an outstanding bourbon considering its price and maturation period. The aroma is somewhat potent, but the taste is delightful with spices. I detect a hint of cinnamon and possibly some mint. I definitely recommend it if you can find it.

Fresh and surprisingly intricate with a velvety texture. It carries a pleasant vanilla and wood essence. The finish is satisfyingly light and sweet. Perhaps a little sharp, but it fades quickly.
