Millard Marquez 4.0

An interesting experiment, blending major rum styles – English (Barbados), Spanish (Venezuela), and French (Martinique) (as a side note, this application doesn't appear to recognize multi-country blends). At first, the Agricole is dominant, with grassy notes and a very agricole-like smell. Although it initially seems like it might overpower the spirit and make the blend pointless, as it airs out, more subtle notes of banana and burnt sugar emerge. It has a fairly light mouthfeel, but I think it suits this blend well. In summary, this is a rather unique and enjoyable rum/rhum/ron.

Inez Lindley 3.0

The smell is of bright, fresh green apple without tartness and a subtle floral note. The flavor profile is unusual and intriguing, featuring butterscotch, fruit, petrol, and cinnamon. It leaves long, thin, almost oily streaks. After some time and several drinks, I detect an initial taste of sweetened water and indistinct fruit blended with funkiness. The aroma when exhaled has a scent like "rubbing alcohol made from pineapple." It lends a cola an interesting, yet still pleasing, flavor. This evaluation is based on drinking it straight.
