It is not part of a specific collection from this distillery. Bottled at 40% ABV, fully aged in American white oak, and has a golden hue. The aroma presents the characteristic scent profile of this distillery: heather, citrus, and creamy vanilla, with a floral quality. Subsequent tastes brought notes of stone fruit, vanilla, banana, and powdered milk. Further sips revealed marshmallow and a saline quality. It strongly conveys its origin and maturation. The taste experience is not particularly intricate or engaging. It begins with sulfurous and sharp notes, including pepper and salt. A few sips offered a faint suggestion of citrus and vanilla, but it was predominantly spicy. The finish is quite pleasant, featuring smoke, tobacco, and a leathery quality. There's a touch of oak, ash, salt, and dryness. A metallic or iron-like sensation is present on the palate and in the aftertaste. In summary, it's a classic example from this distillery, not exceptional but perfectly acceptable. It serves as a suitable introduction for newcomers to this brand, clearly exhibiting the regional peatiness. My rating is a respectable 81 out of 100.
