Beautiful richness. I prefer this to most cognacs I've purchased, including Remy XO and Martell Cordon Bleu, and it costs half as much. It possesses a lovely sweetness that isn't as intense as some sugary rums I've also encountered. My preference these days leans towards less sweet spirits, but I recall this one fondly.

About this bottle
Bodegas Hidalgo, a Spanish winery established in 1792 by Don Jose Pantaleón Hidalgo, has remained a family-run business for six generations. Their Hidalgo 200 Solera Gran Reserva brandy was created to commemorate the winery's 200th anniversary. It features a base brandy that was set aside and undisturbed for two generations of ownership, which is then combined with other brandies aged in American oak casks that previously held sherry wine.
