Refreshing and bright, the flavors are vibrant, starting with juniper, citrus, pine, and anise, followed by a subtle tea note. The alcohol recedes into the background, even at 43%. I'm not typically a gin enthusiast, but this is quite pleasant.

About this bottle
Fifty Pounds Gin, launched in 2010, pays tribute to the 1736 Gin Act in England, which imposed a 50-pound tax on gin producers. According to its backstory, a distilling family during that era mockingly named themselves "Fifty Pounds" and created a secret gin recipe. Generations later, descendants supposedly rediscovered and followed this recipe. The gin begins with a neutral grain spirit infused with eleven botanicals, including juniper berries, coriander seed, grains of paradise, savory, orange and lemon peel, licorice, and angelica root; the other three botanicals remain undisclosed. After distillation, it is blended with additional neutral spirit and diluted with demineralized water to a bottling strength of 43.5% ABV.

Not quite as smooth as some others, but very close to the Botanist for us! We love this, with prominent juniper and a pleasant fruitiness.
Good, with less of the typical pine flavor. When mixed in a lemony drink, it evoked a filet o fish, but the gin itself was good.
This would be my go-to Gin, if it were a little more affordable. It's a simply perfect classic London Dry.
Juniper, smooth, fruity, spicy, peppery. Pairs excellently with Goldberg tonic water infused with coriander and lavender.
Light, but high quality. Would make an excellent gin and tonic.
