Honestly, I can't say much about drinking this neat (I'm not entirely certain why anyone would), so my assessment is solely based on the immense pleasure derived from its use in a Sazerac cocktail. You'll taste the divine when you sip a Sazerac!!! It's a straightforward, old-fashioned American cocktail that will convert even the most pretentious "neat" drinker into a cocktail enthusiast. If you happen to order a Sazerac and witness some overly enthusiastic bartender adding anything other than Herbsaint, Peychaud’s Bitters, sugar or simple syrup, and Straight Rye Whiskey to the glass... you're not drinking a Sazerac!
