Smooth Ambler spirits is based in West Virginia, where they distill and bottle some of their products, but they also acquire spirits from the open market. Revelation Rum originates from Jamaica and was distilled in 1990.

You detect a subtle Jamaican funk with hints of banana and pear, followed by notes of blackberry and passionfruit. The barrel aging imparts a very roasted woody and dark chocolate flavor. It concludes with a light floral, herbal aniseed flavor at the back of your palate. This is a personal favorite. Instant affection.
The rum reached the palate with warmth, if not heat, but quickly transitioned to sweetness from the various fruits. The finish is enduring and has a sweet burn, which I'd liken to charred bourbon barrel (oak), the burn and sweetness of coffee, leather, tobacco, guava, pear, apple, and baking spice.
A very potent sweet molasses scent. A strong sweet oaky finish. Much appreciated.
