Habitation Velier Privateer Unaged Pot Still Rum

The aroma is banana taffy, cantaloupe, vanilla extract, and a hint of acetone or nail polish remover, along with a strong hit of ethanol that stings the nostrils. The taste is quite hot, featuring more banana taffy, golden raisins, medicinal honey, and eggy vanilla custard, with fainter hints of latex and turpentine. The finish is medium in length and hot, dominated by banana taffy and turpentine, with a subtle touch of grapefruit juice. My initial thought was that this must have been made in a makeshift still, but the more I taste it, the more I enjoy it.

Very earthy, with a flavor profile akin to single malt Scotch.
