Green Spot Quails' Gate

The nose presents ripe pear, buttered bread, white grape, honey, cantaloupe, candy corn, vanilla cream, and cake batter. No ethanol detected. Quite enjoyable. The palate delivers stewed pear from the nose, candied orange, cranberry, clove, mild honey, vanilla, barley, and toasted oak. Flavor is certainly abundant. The finish features some sharp unfermented alcohol (92 proof?), pot still funk, almond, apricot, white pepper, and tannic dryness/bitterness. The mouthfeel is quite buttery and medium-bodied, but the finish generally falls short. This is easily the least impressive of the Green Spot wine geese series. A general sharpness permeates the experience that feels unnecessary. While it is far from bad, at $104.99, it's not something I'd purchase again.

Nose: Sweet, warm, summery. Red berries like raspberries and strawberries, along with wood/oak notes reminiscent of walking through an orchard on a warm day, smelling sun-heated trees and earth, mingled with fruit and floral scents. Palate: The alcohol is present but doesn't burn. I detect baking spices like nutmeg and cinnamon, possibly vanilla extract alongside the alcohol's presence. It's very apple-forward, like liquid apple crisp. Finish: The berries reappear, the apple fades, and the alcohol presence lingers. This is from my initial tasting after opening the bottle.

Nose: Classic Irish malt on the nose, a nice strong creamy white oak, catching a hint of cherry and raspberry. Pear, baking spice as well. Palate: Berry and cherry on the palate for sure. Vanilla, cream, soft oak. Dried cranberries appear as well as the red apple. Baking spices continue. Buttery Shortbread. Incredibly drinkable and smooth for 92 proof. Finish: Light toasted oak. Mild fruitiness, red apple skin.

Vanilla is prominent initially, followed by sweet oak. No harshness. Very enjoyable neat or perhaps with a small amount of water.

A pleasant, gentle whisky with a very agreeable taste.
