Nose: Smoky oak tannins with ripe cherry. Palate: Rich creamy mouth feel. Vanilla, buttery caramel with cherry and dark dried fruit. Finish: Very dry and astringent. A finish very much like another brand's offering. Dry like a very dry white wine. The typical fruit-forward notes are absent here. The unsatisfying finish almost makes this pour a hard pass. Almost. The nose and splendid mouth feel rescues this bottle not available in the US. Lots of people love that other brand's offering so this might be the ideal pour for some. If you can find it at a special import shop or through a vendor that specializes in such, this is a worthwhile bottle to try. A friend of mine ordered it from Europe and I am very glad he shared with me.

After years of being a broke student subsisting on the cheapest Bell’s and Whyte & Mackay available at the campus pub, Glenmorangie became my introductory single malt! I’ve always held a fondness for their whiskies, and though my preference leans towards Islay malts now, I still appreciate a dram from The Sixteen Men of Tain. This particular bottling is a delightful non-age-statement expression, evoking a festive winter atmosphere. The initial taste is warm and citrusy, evolving with notes of apple, cinnamon, and pepper. The lingering aftertaste echoes these flavors, enhanced by lemon zest and sherry that persist for a considerable duration. Overall, it's a wonderfully warming drink. My bottle is nearly depleted, and its scarcity makes it a regrettable loss once it's gone.

I had one of the final drops at the distillery. While I was disappointed I couldn't purchase it, I'm grateful for the experience! Many thanks to the staff there:) It offered notes of Christmas cake, dried fruit, and was oily and sweet, creating a delightful combination.

PX aroma. Tastes mellow and easy to drink. Finishes lightly on the tongue with a slight spicy conclusion.
