Glengoyne Legacy Series: Chapter Two 2020

Aroma: Charred pineapple, dried golden grapes, subtle cinnamon, apple nectar. Palate: Pineapple, apricot, peach, apple nectar, mild "spice" warmth/buzz, dried golden grapes. Aftertaste: Lingering burnt pineapple/peach fruit char bitterness & sweetness, ginger buzz/warmth. Rating: 83/100 Overall Impression: It's been some time since I sampled the Series One, and my recollection is that it had a more pronounced sweet sherry character. This iteration presented as brighter, livelier, and brought the malt to the forefront more. The pineapple flavor was quite pleasant, yet the overall impression of this drink felt somewhat "light." It's certainly well-balanced and genuinely enjoyable to sip. I suspect this is the kind of pour you'd select when you desire something uncomplicated, requiring minimal contemplation. Would I partake if offered? - Yes Would I specifically request it? - Perhaps Would I purchase a bottle? - No IMPORTANT - All assessments exclude price considerations.

Nose: Sweet, with berry-like fruit, candy, lemon, and furniture polish. Palate: Sherry, citrus, tart apple, and caramel. It has a tingly sensation on the tongue. Finish: A medium-short finish with citrus, orange, and apple. Oak is present in the aftertaste. This is a delightful whisky. It has an intensity not often found in Glengoyne expressions. It maintains the expected smoothness of their spirit while offering nice layers of flavor. It ranked sixth out of six drams, receiving 2% of the votes for favorite of the night. 64% of those present indicated they enjoyed the whisky.

Nose: Sweet orange and crystallized ginger; strong toffee with a grainy undertone. Taste: Smooth and sweet, with abundant orange marmalade, cooked peaches, a hint of cashew, and excellent balance. Finish: Long, smooth, and sweet. A truly excellent dram.

On the nose: green apples, citrus, orange, cinnamon, then moving to dark fruits, pepper, chocolate, vanilla. Palate: a wave of caramel, chocolate, and vanilla with spices, a touch of coffee. A long and spicy finish. Nice, very nice.

Nose: Quite subtle. Light fruits, cinnamon, citrus. Palate: Very surprising. Hits your tongue with spices (the 48% ABV), then salt, then smooth syrup, raisins. The finish is long. Wow. Very good.

Citrus and sweet on the nose, reminds me of crystallized orange. Spicy on the tongue with a bit of cinnamon taste which remains active in the mouth for a while. Good whisky!
