About this bottle
The Portsoy bottling is one of three new single malts introduced by Glenglassaugh as part of its core portfolio relaunch. This coastal single malt was matured in bourbon, sherry, and port casks. All single malts in the portfolio, including this one, were aged in coastal warehouses overlooking Sandend Bay. However, this particular release is a peated single malt, distinguishing it from the other two bottlings. The new portfolio also features an updated bottle design. Bottled at 49.1% ABV, it was launched in the summer of 2023, with the US receiving its allocation in September 2023. The suggested retail price is $75.

A touch of smokiness mingled with a strong sea saltiness. I detected potent notes of savory soy sauce and a meaty smoke.
Smooth and unimpressive on the front and mid-palate, with heavy smoke and peat on the backend. It's too smoky for my preference.
More smoky than peaty. Savory smoke, reminiscent of bacon. Abundantly spicy. Rich. Hints of sweet soy sauce. Certified
Very pleasant coastal smoky aroma Oily, barbecue pineapple. Very smooth easy-drinking peated spirit.
