Glengarry Single Malt

A deep gold hue, appearing dense and viscous. Initially, the aroma presents a meadow of dried grass and wildflowers, with prominent barley notes. It's accompanied by sharp white pepper and hints of sugar plum. Gentler scents emerge: lavender, marshmallow, and vanilla. There's a faint undertone reminiscent of vegetable water. Caramel and dark chocolate notes are also present. The overall bouquet is quite welcoming and agreeable. The palate begins with a strong peppery presence: both black and red pepper flakes. The spice gradually gives way to sweeter profiles: plums, dried grapes, apple peels, honey, and vanilla. It possesses a creamy texture, with a subtle hint of salted butter contributing to the taste. The conclusion features notes of charcoal and dried tobacco leaves. It's earthy with a mild smokiness. A touch of green apple is detectable, alongside bitter fennel and herbal elements. A significant amount of white pepper spice lingers at the very end, balanced by a salinity comparable to a salt lick. This expression is exceptionally smooth and inviting. It offers notes of green apples, honey, vanilla, gentle smoke or tobacco, a cigar box character, aged wood, significant saltiness, ground pepper, dried grasses, barley sweetness, and numerous other pleasing components.

The aroma offers light smoke and butterscotch. The palate presents butterscotch with a touch of peat and a bit of spice. Flavors are rich and full with vanilla and toffee, joined by a familiar yet hard-to-pinpoint sweetness. The finish is oak with a hint of smoke and a touch of salt, and it endures. The alcohol is well-hidden and never obtrusive throughout.

I'm undecided... It's not bad, but it's not great either. Smells like cream soda, vanilla, and maybe walnut. Tastes of fresh tobacco leaves, smoke, and ginger. The finish is short.

A solid "everyday" single malt. It's mild and mellow with notes of vanilla and honey, plus a whisper of smoke and peat.

Acceptable. The finish is smooth and brief. Nothing to dislike. Reasonably priced.

Nothing special. A good single malt to drink with ice.
