Distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2010. It has a pale, shimmering golden appearance. The aroma features slivered almonds baked with a hint of cayenne pepper, with the marzipan character continuing onto the palate alongside bergamot, nougat, large golden raisins, and Werther's Original candy. A mellow, mature, and instantly appealing dram.
It's nice and smooth with a somewhat floral mid-palate, but beyond that, there wasn't much depth. If you're seeking a smooth, easy-drinking whisky, this is a solid option, but for my personal taste, it was a little too subdued.
The aroma is fresh and fruity. The taste is citrusy, lemony, soft, light, and clean. The finish is light, soft, with a hint of wine.
I might have commented on another Rothes. But this is a pleasant one. Smooth. With some smoke. A warm sensation at the end.
This scotch starts out quite sharp, but a splash of water or several sips smooths it out.
A rich fruity aroma, sweet and lingers in the mouth with flavor.
