About this bottle

Founded in 1826 by James Allardice, The Glendronach (meaning "Valley of the Brambles" in Scotch Gaelic) discovered the synergy between Spanish sherry casks and its Highland spirit. This 12-year-old expression is among the three foundational single malt whiskies in the brand's lineup. In 2024, the whisky's packaging was refreshed to highlight the brand's utilization of Spanish sherry casks, specifically oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks for maturation. These bottles, at 43% ABV, will be offered in the US from October 2024. (SRP $65.99)

Janel Hatfield 3.0

A strong oak aroma dominates the primary taste. There's a hint of sweetness and smoke. However, I detect no sherry characteristics. It's pleasant to drink, but somewhat disappointing given the cost.
