Glendalough Wild Rose Gin

I had never encountered rose gin before, but I sought one for summer G&Ts. I found this one and, while I know their Irish whiskey, I didn't realize they produced gin. The clearance price of $9.99 caught my eye. For $10, I decided to try it. It was likely the best $10 I've spent recently. It works well as a mixer, even though it makes my G&Ts pink. I still believe St. Augustine is the best value gin available, but I'm returning tomorrow to buy the rest of this at $10 so I can continue drinking pink G&Ts for a while. I suspect it would also make a delicious gimlet for my wife, and she would appreciate the pink color. 8/8/23

The scent of rose is noticeable, contributing a delicate floral quality to the botanical blend. Juniper, however, is the primary element. In terms of flavor, the rose provides just enough intrigue and floral notes for a distinctive touch. After a few sips, it becomes comfortably familiar. We enjoy this one neat, or in gin cocktails that don't feature citrus. It's quite intriguing and a successful creation.

A dream for those who love floral and rose notes. The warmth on the palate feels almost cold, making it very refreshing. It's easily drinkable with just club soda on ice and an herbal or floral garnish to complement the spirit's aroma. Plus, it's pink! Quite lovely. This one offers many creative possibilities. I'm very pleased I purchased it.
