Julian Hussain 3.5

(The GlenAllachie Virgin Oak Series Virtual Tasting with Billy Walker, November 12th, 2020). Spanish oak from Northwest Spain. The spirit spent most of its life in American bourbon barrels, with an 18-month finishing period in the virgin Spanish oak cask (medium toast, medium char). Nose: Honey, coconut, orange, spice Palate: Treacle, heather honey, orange, cocoa, spice (cinnamon, allspice). Slightly 'hot'. Finish: Citrus/orange, cinnamon vanilla, oak char, ginger. Overall, this is a very warming dram. As with the rest of the virgin oak range, you can detect the distillery's signature note of honey and a little spice. A good, well-made dram.

Leo Mims 4.0

Full of spices like cardamom and nutmeg, fermented and floral honey, a very pleasant aroma that leads to dessert wine white grapes and an intriguing hint of saffron.

Leroy Driver 2.8

Up and nodding with the usual 12-year-old. Unsure if better, maybe

Taylor Peng 3.8

Very floral with a touch of sweetness on the palate and a smooth finish.
