Cameron Francisco 3.8

Initial pour I've been favoring Glen Scotia recently, trying some new bottles and revisiting older ones, and generally have a good impression of their selections. While not on the level of Springbank or Hazelburn, they offer a tasty and enjoyable Campbeltown whisky nonetheless. This required significant time and some melted ice to fully develop. Nose: Earthy peat, toffee, vanilla, salt, along with some fruitiness and overall sweetness. Palate: Thick, syrupy, and moderately sweet, with a youthful warmth, sweet peat, some tropical fruits, and spicy notes. Finish: A very thick coating of the tongue and mouth, general sweetness, persistent pepper and baking spices. The PX influence is subtle. The 8-year age is not obvious, except for the warmth. It's not my top choice among the Glen Scotias I've tasted recently, but it's definitely an acceptable, better-than-average Scotch whisky.

Phoenix Vincent 4.3

More complex and higher proof than the 10, but similar. Smell: Spicy, some peat, sweet licorice Taste: Sweet cherry, very spicy, lots of brine, still light peat Aftertaste: Hot, lingers

Billie Gross 4.8

Nose: Immediate peat, citrus, vanilla, and caramel. Palate: Bold, spicy, full, sweet, mouth-coating, salty, with dried fruits, plum, and smoke. Finish: Spice, smoke, wood, honey, and briny notes.

This one is spirited. Bottled at cask strength and aged for 8 years, it delivers a powerful impact. It's spicy, yet offers abundant delightful sweetness. A small addition of water smooths it out.

Greyson Rector 4.0

Sweet and caramel-like with pleasant smoky undertones.

Glenn Baumann 4.3

Incredibly tasty.
