Nose: Very light and gentle, with floral notes, honey sweetness, vanilla, and cinnamon. Fruits are prominent, such as fresh pear, plum, and apples. A sweetness like fruit paste with a slightly sour aroma is present. Even some olives, both green and black, can be detected. Taste: More assertive than the aroma. It has sour green apples, mellow sweet apples, gooseberry, some spices, and vanilla. It really highlights apples, giving vibes of apple cider or even apple brandy, which enhances its wonderful performance and reassures its ability to impress. Finish: Sweeter than the taste, heavier, sharper, and impressively robust. It clearly exceeds expectations. One might anticipate a gentler, calmer character, perhaps watery or cloying. Instead, this is a perfectly balanced and simultaneously defiant Speysider, though it could easily be mistaken for a typical one. The key strengths are its remarkable sourness and the balance between drinkability and sharpness.
