Glayva Whisky Liqueur

Appearance: Translucent copper gold. Aroma: Floral honey, light citrus, and subtle spices (a hint of anise). Flavor and Texture: Honey, citrus, and cinnamon appear first, transitioning to a wider array of botanicals like clove and nutmeg. It remains sweet through the aftertaste. The texture is thick, somewhat syrupy, but delightfully rich. Glayva and Drambuie share similarities, and in a blind tasting (if you hadn't had either for a while), you might struggle to tell them apart, but you'd definitely notice you were tasting two distinct liqueurs. Drambuie is a bit "brighter" and "sharper." It also has a slightly warmer palate and a profile that feels more medicinal. Glayva is gentler, more rounded, and its botanical background seems richer and better balanced. Both are good, and it simply comes down to personal preference (I prefer Glayva myself). For its price, it's a good value whisky liqueur. "Good": 84/100 (3.75 stars)

A rich Fruit Liqueur first produced in 1947 in Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland by Ronald Morrison & Co Ltd and now made by Whyte and Mackay Ltd. It is made with a mix of aged Scotch whiskies, specific spices, Mediterranean tangerines, cinnamon, almonds & honey; and is bottled at 35% ABV. It has an aromatic beginning with notes of citrus, nuts, spices & whisky; while a rich middle adds notes of tangerine, honey & almond; leading to a candied end of medium length with notes of candied tangerine peels. Tangerine and almonds on the nose. A smooth, honey-like finish with cinnamon spices.

Sweet and spicy, with a thick texture on the palate. A prominent honey flavor. Wonderful for after dinner.
