This is a decent sake with a full and balanced flavor. It leans towards a generic bitterness that I'm not fond of, with undertones of 70% dark chocolate, but it's still quite drinkable. It's comparable to Hakutsuru Junmai, but less watery and perhaps a bit more balanced with sweetness. I don't love it, but it's acceptable. It has a pleasant floral and fruity quality. It's not intensely rich, but the fruitiness has a lasting presence. Its complexity is similar to Ozeki, but I find this slightly better, though not worth the price difference. It possesses a nice freshness and is a good sake. Sho Chiku Bai Nigori is superior, however. At 13% ABV, it's more complex and flavorful than Ozeki, but costs about three times as much. For a premium sake, consider other options. For a drinkable sake, Ozeki is recommended.
