This spirit is infused with Caribbean rum, and upon tasting, you would strongly believe you were drinking rum. An incredibly aromatic nose is full of vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, apricot, honey, and green apple. On the palate - the caramel, brown sugar, and vanilla hit intensely, creating a mouthwatering sensation that compels further sips. A mild peppery sensation occurs at the back of the throat but doesn't linger. This is a pleasant pour with one significant drawback - the finish! The flavors vanish far too quickly, making this a forgettable offering. It's a shame this wasn't bottled at 100 proof, giving the notes a chance to persist. I enjoy many of the Forty Creek selections but am consistently let down by the lasting finish. Overall: Nose 4/5, Taste 3.5/5, Finish 2/5, Overall 3.25/5 Repurchase: Yes Type: Everyday Drinker

The aroma is pleasant, reminiscent of rhum and caramel. The taste reveals barrel aging, with a subtle hint of rhum and an initial oaky, slightly fruity flavor that's hard to pinpoint, followed by a strong caramel note and some spice. The finish is agreeably creamy, with spice that persists. Compared to the Forty Creek Barrel Reserve, it's different rather than superior, and it's pricier.

I immediately noticed the rum's impact, altering the typical whiskey tasting notes. It has a sweeter caramel profile compared to the usual vanilla and oak found in most whiskies I try. It's a pleasant sipping whiskey, though I found it improved with an ice cube and a few drops of water. Overall, I like it, but I've preferred other rum or Caribbean-inspired whiskies.

Undrinkable. A neighbor gave me his bottle as he didn't care for it, and right away the aroma is unpleasant. It smells like cheap vodka. The taste is simply awful; bitter rubbing alcohol is the best description. Not good; I would advise you to avoid this.

I didn't really detect the rum flavor. I added a little water, and any more diminishes it significantly. It's not great, not terrible; I'd stick with Forty Creek Copper Pot, which is superb.

It's acceptable for mixing, but nothing special. You'd get better value buying a decent rum.
