Most bottles improve after the initial pour, but this one declined. I'm really trying to support this local distillery, but it's just not working for me, and I love young ryes! It's frustrating.
The initial pour smelled of honey and white pepper, which is not typical for a 95/5 rye. I am eager to see how this develops over time.
Some young ryes are intriguing in a positive way. This one just seems immature.
