Brad Elliott 4.0

Attracted by its craft packaging, this Fettercairn was an unwise impulse purchase that I began to doubt after checking reviews. Hints of pinewood, pears, and mango rise from the glass, followed by mushrooms, hay, and olive oil. It's unusual, subtle, and appealing. On the palate, citrus fruits, black pepper, and a touch of stout are overshadowed by walnuts, melon, and a faint sweetness of honey. Rosemary, lemon zest, and distinct sherry notes define the long and robust finish. A lesson learned: an initial opinion isn't always correct. RATING: 3.9/5.0 stars ≙ 86 pts → FIRST-CLASS [-]

A decent, sweet malt with cereal upfront. Lacks distinct character.
