An amber liquid in the glass. The aroma is dominated by light alcohol with subtle brown sugar undertones. The taste begins with faint brown sugar and woody notes, followed by a slight lingering astringency. It has a medium body and finish. This is a mild American rum with a touch of heat. It's very mellow, but good for its price.

About this bottle
The Hudson Valley facility of Taconic Distillery mainly produces bourbon and other whiskeys. Their sole rum product, like all their spirits featuring the foxhound Copper on the label, is made from molasses. It is aged for two years in bourbon barrels, followed by their own rye barrels, and is then reduced to proof with estate spring water.
