About this bottle

HDC Elk Rider Rye is a two-year-old blend consisting of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It is aged in a combination of 10, 50, and 200-liter American oak barrels. The spirit is produced using an Italian copper pot still named "Nonna," originally designed for grappa. Nonna, along with a thumper and a 14-foot reflux column still, enables HDC to achieve high flavor profiles in a single distillation pass.

Rita Burkholder 3.3

A strong aroma of orange and caramel. A lot of black pepper on the palate, with a rather thin body and short finish, but I enjoy the warmth.

Maeve Beavers 4.5

Wow. Pretty darn tasty, that last note really adds some character.

Marci Slack 3.0

Noticeably hot, sweet, and spicy.
