El Tesoro Paradiso Extra Añejo Tequila

A bar manager in Nashville was kind enough to pour me a taste because I mentioned that El Tesoro is my favorite tequila. I have to say, this was a very good tequila, but unlike any extra anejo I've had before. It has less barrel influence and more fresh agave and traditional tequila flavor. I'm really glad I got to try this since it's outside my usual budget and very difficult to find if I ever decided to splurge on a bottle. 2/4/24

Fruity, minty nose. Herbal palate with spices and a little mint, with a fruity finish. Wasn't impressed at first, but it's growing on me halfway through the bottle.

Sweet aroma, agave, light oak and dusty. Palate is more vegetal than the aroma suggested. Licorice/fennel. Easy drinking and a tasty neat sipper.

The aroma brings pineapple cotton candy, followed by spicy, earthy notes reminiscent of Tesoro, and concluding with a lingering sweet cognac taste.

Mild spice that lingers. Just a touch of that extra añejo sweet whiskey taste. Smells of sweet caramel.

It's remarkably smooth and leaves a clean finish. Subtle agave notes with a hint of brown sugar remain on the tongue.
