Aromatic profile with caramel, cinnamon, a little agave. Medium body, with caramel notes that don't overshadow the agave. The bourbon is clearly present even though it barely counts as an XA. It bears a resemblance to 7L D'Antano, which costs half as much. It's adequate, but honestly, I sympathize with anyone who spends over $500 RRP on this.

About this bottle
El Tesoro 85th Anniversary Extra Añejo Tequila was created to commemorate the 85th anniversary of La Alteña Distillery in Jalisco, Mexico. Master Distiller Carlos Camarena collaborated with James B. Beam Distilling Co.'s Master Distiller Fred Noe for this expression. The 100% estate-grown tequila was aged for at least 3 years in barrels previously used for Booker's 30th Anniversary Bourbon, which held bourbon aged up to 16 years. Bottled at 42.5% ABV, it was released in limited quantities in November 2022 with a suggested retail price of $499.99.

Tasted neat a while ago, courtesy of my distributor friend, Tanya! Unfortunately, I couldn't jot down notes then.
