About this bottle

This añejo tequila represents the second Barrel Select collaboration with Widow Jane Distillery. It originates from single estate agave plants harvested at Rancho El Nacimiento, a property in Jalisco owned by the family of Tequila Ocho co-founder Carlos Camarena. The tequila, which contains no added ingredients, is made using traditional methods like brick ovens and wooden fermenters. Subsequently, it was matured in recently emptied Widow Jane Bourbon barrels for 12 months and then bottled at 96 proof. Production was capped at 1,300 cases, with availability in select US markets beginning February 2024. (Suggested Retail Price $90)

Bentley Reeder 4.0

NEAT NOSE - Agave and Caramel notes. PALATE - A velvety texture on the tongue. Agave and Caramel flavors. FINISH - Unexpectantly prolonged. Smooth with sweetness. OVERALL - My tequila journey has just begun, but I selected this one due to my enjoyment of Widow Jane 10 Yr. This tequila presents a pleasing equilibrium between agave and characteristics derived from a bourbon barrel. It's an excellent fusion of tequila and former bourbon casks. I wholeheartedly endorse this bottling, particularly for bourbon enthusiasts venturing into tequila.
