Disappointing. Amazing aroma, with complex sherry notes. The taste is similar to Aberlour A'bunadh. Mediocre stuff, perhaps comparable to Macallan Classic Cut on its best day, but the flavors are too subdued. It's orange-forward and can't compete with the rich complexity of top-tier sherry bombs like Bunnahabhain and Glendronach. I sampled this after using these as benchmarks: Macallan Classic Cut, Redbreast 15, Rabbit Hole Dareringer, Glendronach 18, Bunnahabhain 18. All of those whiskies are better. I still have some of this sample left. I will allow it to oxidize and revisit it in a month or two to see if it improves.

Tasting this again after a few weeks. Solid. It’s like Bunnahabhain 18 but without the gritty bits, meaning it’s more refined. Nothing like Abunadh. I’m keen to sample additional cask strength Edradour sherry cask bottlings.
