Eau Claire is an excellent craft distillery. I was very pleased to see the price of this release, thinking that an affordable Eau Claire was finally available. After trying some of the bottle, I have to admit it has a slightly metallic taste on the palate, and the flavors are generally of a typical Canadian sweet, light, and approachable whiskey. If you don't detect the metallic note, I believe this would be a great Canadian whiskey. As it stands, it's quite similar to Forty Creek Copper pot.

I appreciate it. It has floral and butterscotch notes. While not as smooth as crown royal, it's a solid whiskey for those who enjoy corn and rye. It doesn't lean towards overly sweet profiles but is still good. Offers notes of dates and popcorn.
A smooth, easy-to-drink spirit for its price.
Buttered popcorn on the palate.
