The aroma has strong notes of new car smell. I concur with another reviewer who mentioned glue. This carries into the mouth with a sensation similar to a brand new office chair just unwrapped. It's fitting for a product from Grand Rapids, but not so much for a whiskey.

Served neat in a rocks glass at the distillery's tasting room. The aroma offered vanilla and ginger, evoking a Christmas cake. The flavor was predominantly clove, cinnamon, and citrus. The finish was clean and slightly tannic.
Wins medals, but something about the taste isn't my thing. Maybe it's truly rye flavor, maybe glue... First taste, will see how it is the second time around.
