About this bottle

This particular expression features two rye whiskeys sourced from MGP in Indiana. The first has a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, while the second contains 51% rye, 45% corn, and 4% malted barley. These were initially aged for an average of five years before being combined into a base of 73% rye. This blend then undergoes further maturation in a solera system using ex-rum casks from Trinidad, Venezuela, and Jamaica. The whiskey is bottled at 95 proof.

Annie Reardon 4.0

Allow to rest for roughly sixty seconds. Appearance: Faint yellow with amber undertones; Aroma: A tartness from the rye, subtle burnt sugar; Palate: Swift warm spices and capsicum followed by nectar, characteristic rye earthiness, the sweetness from the sherry barrel is clearly discernible; Finish: Extended flavor, abundant sweetness, it lacks the sharpness of an immature rye but instead offers a smoothness.

Krystal Mclean 4.0

It's mellow and smooth. I appreciate this type of Rye finish. This is a fine substitute, though my top choice is no longer produced.

Rocco Handy 4.0

Very full and well-rounded. Better with a little water.

Jason Worley 4.5

The rum sweetness works well with the rye's bite.

Ronny Judge 4.3

Sweet, with a rum-like finish.
