Deckhand

The aroma is strongly of vanilla, pine, cherries, or perhaps green apple. The palate has rye, but it's quite subtle, with sweetness beneath an oily mouthfeel. The finish is very uninspired, with little burn and hardly any warmth from the alcohol. The intriguing nose doesn't carry through the rest of the tasting experience. Overall, it's pleasant enough but not like a typical rye, and I likely won't purchase it again.

The aroma upon opening the bottle was lovely, leading to high expectations. However, the rye flavor was quite weak, and the overall impression was mediocre at best.
