This unpeated single malt whisky has undergone maturation for a minimum of 18 years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks. It is presented at an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 46.3%.

Aroma: Blackcurrant, leather, stewed apple. Taste: A strong initial hit of ginger and chocolate. Intense wood spices, floral pine, and lemon oil. Finish: Sweet green grass, ginger, and vanilla. Among the best value 18-year-olds available and a superb dram.
Nose: acetone, lemons, hints of vanilla. A touch of floral notes. Palate: lemon candy, orange zest, sugar, with notes of young ethanol. Vanilla and peppery oak are present. Finish: brief, with walnuts and sugar.
I used mezcal and tequila as points of comparison. This is my second tasting, and I remain unimpressed. A very pronounced lemon note cuts through.
Another try, the palate has notes of apple and pear, with good sediment and body. Still unimpressive, though.
Very sweet, smooth, and floral. I would buy this.
Lovely, smoky crème brûlée.
