About this bottle
Dark Horse Distillery, situated in Lenexa, KS, commenced operations in 2010. They utilize a 500-gallon copper hybrid still, nicknamed “Chester Copperpot,” for their whiskey production. This offering is 100% rye, with the name signifying America's renewed connection to its native spirit, which nearly vanished after Prohibition.

Smells like cherry vanilla, with cinnamon hitting you first. It's a bit hot initially, with not much oak flavor, which is understandable for a two-year-old rye. Very smooth.
Not a favorite. Dry, spicy, and hot. That's all I can say.
