[Early 2011] Surprised I never "tasted" this but I guess I had it before this app was a thing. Ranked this higher than the other one because my expectations (and price point were lower). This is a heavy wheat whiskey that is harsh but holds its own in a workshop cabinet. If you wanted to try your hands at self-aging in a mini-barrel, this would be a good base. Has the parts for a good bourbon (and has fathered many) but simply too raw to pay the same price for it over other more refined yet wheated options. Here's looking at you, Weller or Bernheim.

Brendon Rosenthal 4.0

This wheat whiskey from Middle West Spirits has a nose that hits you with notes of oak, vanilla, and caramel, with a hint of cinnamon spice. The taste is smooth and sweet, with flavors of butterscotch, honey, and a touch of fruitiness. The finish is long and warming, with a pleasant oak and spice character. Overall, a very enjoyable and well-balanced whiskey.

It has a singular appeal, but I truly enjoy that particular quality. I've always favored wheated bourbons, and this spirit captures that unique taste and embodies it entirely. Those who dislike wheaters won't care for this. However, I am quite fond of it.

For a whiskey from Ohio, this is excellent. It's a bit spicy for a wheat whiskey, but not bad. It makes outstanding Old Fashioneds. It's also decent for sipping. It tastes young; it could certainly benefit from more aging to fully develop its flavors.

Savannah Wise 3.8

A pleasant sweet aroma, with good sugar notes, perhaps a hint of pear, an interesting and pleasing wheat flavor, but it might be slightly too strong.

Rocio Ellison 4.0

Incredibly mellow, sweet, and rich - perfect for any occasion!
