A. Smith Bowman, a historic family distillery in Virginia, is among the few that resumed operations shortly after Prohibition. This limited edition was aged in separate barrels and various warehouse locations for different durations, allowing it to benefit from varying air quality exposures. To preserve its natural flavors, the bourbon is not chill filtered.

The Double Barrel expression was what I tried. Immense oak on the aroma, along with oak, alcohol, some spice, and rye. The palate continues the oaky character with notes of clove, pepper, and a tannic, dry sensation. The finish is dry, with spices, and distinctly bourbony.
An interesting finish. Not for daily consumption, but a great choice to vary things and savor occasionally
It's good, but not significantly distinct from John J. Bowman. Save some money by choosing John Bowman instead.
Extremely smooth and easy to drink. Perfect for a relaxed late summer Sunday.
