Nose: Deeper floral notes like violets and irises. Also some tree fruits. Abundant oak and grain, as expected from a grain blend! Palate: Fruity, tasting like a mix of peach and apple. Very sweet and smooth. Hints of vanilla and some toasted almond. Finish: Medium length. More toasted almond and vanilla. Slightly less fruity but still present. A gentle conclusion; no harshness. Final Thoughts: I've been eager to sample this since its release. As I understand it, this is the inaugural blended grain whiskey from Ireland. Bottles from this producer are quite difficult to find in my area, so I'm pleased to finally have my second bottle and I absolutely love it. It's quite impressive from the start, considering blends aren't typically my preference. The flavor profile is excellent, and the whiskey is of pure quality. If you have the opportunity to get a bottle, seize it. I am actively seeking every bottle from this producer; they craft a remarkable whiskey.

J.J. Corry 'The Hanson' Batch No. 2 Irish Whiskey is an exceptional, refined Irish Whiskey from Louise McGuane, the founder of Chapel Gate Whiskey in Ireland. It's a blend of Irish Grain Whiskies sourced from just 3 barrels by two unnamed Irish distilleries. 80% of the spirit is 10-year-old Single Grain, and 20% is 4-year-old Single Grain, both aged in former Bourbon barrels and bottled at 46% ABV. It starts with an aromatic profile of grain, wood, fruit, herbs, and spices. The palate is rich with notes of sponge cake, rum-raisin ice cream with chocolate sauce, vanilla flan, tiramisu, toasted granola clusters, and peach cobbler, leading to a warm, dry finish of medium length with notes of soft oak tannins, chai latte with honey, and exotic fruits. Pleasant, fresh, sweet spirit that works wonderfully in mixed drinks. Nose: Vanilla, Almond Shortbread Cookies, Coconut Cream Pie, Bananas, Honey, Almonds, Marzipan, cooked agave Palate: Vanilla, Caramel, Honey, Coconuts, Bananas, Grass, Cotton Candy Finish: Vanilla, Honey, Caramel, Lavender, Brown Sugar

Nose: citrus, chocolate, white cake, oak Palate: cane sugar, cereal, oak, vanilla Finish: hot With water: becomes sweeter but develops an odd smell on the nose. Tames the heat. Strangely, decent on ice. Best enjoyed neat, though. (Flaviar Advent Calendar)

I detect baked goods on the nose, possibly oatmeal raisin cookies. It transforms into cake with the first taste, then shifts to peach and oak. Vanilla and cinnamon accentuate the finish. A very pleasant Irish whiskey that I would be proud to offer guests.

Tastes like a sweet dessert, perhaps birthday cake with a bubbly quality, similar to champagne or Chardonnay. Hints of white wine complement the sweetness. These are certainly not flavors I've associated with Irish spirits; it tastes almost Japanese. Fascinating.
